Drew Scott is one proud husband and father! Earlier this month, Scott, known for hosting the series Property Brothers with his sibling Jonathan, announced that he and his wife are expecting their second baby.
The HGTV icon then followed up and dove deeper into his feelings regarding the upcoming addition to the family. He spoke with PEOPLE on Saturday for the Environmental Media Awards Gala on Saturday, where he had nothing but praise for Phan, to whom he’s been married since 2018.

The couple welcomed son Parker in May 2022, specifically on the same day as their fourth wedding anniversary, according to She Knows. Based on their social media posts, it’s already a party.
Last year, Drew enjoyed a special surprise in the form of an “Early #FathersDay present from Picasso Parker.” He shared a photo of artwork by young Parker on Instagram.
Drew is more than confident in his and Linda’s readiness as they embark on this next phase of parenthood – especially Linda – but there has been a learning curve along the way.
Drew Scott discusses parenthood
So far, the wait for their second baby has been colored by joyful anticipation for Drew and Linda. “We are super excited,” gushed Drew. “Linda is a rockstar mom already.” Seeing 20-month-old Parker “be a big bro” is also an exciting prospect for him.
“I love seeing Linda as a mom, and the idea of having a couple of kiddos running around is pretty cool,” he continued. “I have siblings, and so for Parker to have a sibling too is pretty cool.” Musing over Parker as a sibling, Drew added, “I think he knows something. If we say, ‘Where’s the baby?,’ he puts his hand on his belly. So he knows something, but I don’t know if he quite gets it yet.”
He and Phan found the “early stages” of parenthood to be challenging. “I was back in school finishing my Executive MBA and I had to fly out to Boston two months after Parker was born for two weeks,” shared Drew. “The early stages of being born is a tough time to leave a parent solo.”
“[Linda] was good at letting me know what she needed to tackle everything,” he added, “but after doing that it made me understand how easy it could be to just let Linda take the reins on everything Parker — I’m at work all day and she’s with him, so it’s easy for me to forget that I’m a parent here too and I have certain responsibilities.”
As for the gender, Drew said “We don’t actually know if it’s going to be a boy or girl, so it’s going to be a surprise.” This surprise approach is the same one they took with Parker.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
