Rumer Willis took to Instagram on Friday to show off her postpartum body and talk about the trauma she went through last year. She went makeup-free and struck several poses with nothing on except for a piece of jewelry in what appeared to be an outdoor bathroom. In another snap, she captured her back with the lower part of her body inside the tub and her wet long hair parted to the side.
The House Bunny actress had her first child, Louetta, in April 2023, and according to her lengthy note, she “gave birth at home, with no drugs, surrounded by family.” “Finding my way back to myself … Last year was incredibly dynamic, I grew a human being,” she started.

Rumer further revealed that she “navigated a new relationship while being pregnant and postpartum, fell in love with the tiny love of my life Lou, softened, became less resistant to my own bullshit, threw pots on a wheel, did 6 am ocean swims 4x a week in the winter, learned about what real intimacy looks like, working on being the most honest authentic version of myself.”
Rumer has been seven years sober
Rumer celebrated seven years of sobriety after a longtime battle with alcohol abuse. She revealed in a 2021 interview with American Addiction Centers that drinking was her way of gaining confidence and managing panic attacks. “I was almost using it as a tool … as a way to be this version of myself I thought was smarter, funnier, more confident, more interesting,” she said.
With the growth that has happened so far, Rumer is hopeful for what this year brings and “can’t wait to see what’s next.”
“Celebrated 7 years of sobriety, showed myself I’m not a weenie hehe, took a plunge in the ice cold river, loved myself more than I ever have felt more beautiful and comfortable in my skin than I ever have,” her note reads.
