Hollywood has gone through a series of transformations over the decades, from silent movies to the illustrious presentations of film noir, to the colorful expression in the latter half of the century. Television icons Loni Anderson, Nicollette Sheridan, and Morgan Fairchild consider the ’80s the best era for their particular brand of business.
Fairchild dominated the small screen in the late ’70s and ’80s with appearances on the soap operas Search for Tomorrow and Dallas, as well as Falcon Crest. Anderson broke barriers in WKRP in Cincinnati. Sheridan, meanwhile, cemented her fame in Knots Landing. Each became beloved icons of television with their own experiences with production but all have the same favorite time period.
Nicollette Sheridan, Morgan Fairchild, and Loni Anderson reminisce about the ’80s as a Golden Age for TV filming
Each actress has has a different big title that made her a star – and that she, too, made a national sensation – but they all ruled television around the same time, the golden ’80s.

“Everything was so glamorous,” mused Anderson. “It seemed to be all limos and black tie when I look back at it. And I know there was more going on, but of course, if you have picture albums and everything that’s available, and you think, ‘Wow, we went to a lot of stuff.'”
All of them also agree: shoulder pads are due for a comeback.
Linda Gray of Dallas fame shared their sentiments. Gray joined the stars in reminiscing over the ’80s and the height of their success just in time for the holiday movie Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas.
“The world was a different place then, and I think that’s interesting to look back. We worked a lot during the ‘80s, and I think it was so much fun for me to look back and go, ‘Wow, look at the world, look at the energy that was different back then.’ We were very positive back then. Everything just seemed yummier.”
Reunite with Loni Anderson, Nicollette Sheridan, and Morgan Fairchild in ‘Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas’
Lifetime presents Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas, part of the “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” Christmas programming slate. The program has recruited Sheridan, Anderson, and Fairchild, as well as Linda Gray and Donna Mills as former ’80s daytime soap opera stars who reunite to film a final episode of their show, The Great Lakes.
The leading ladies have been promoting the new movie while also enjoying spending time together, something they’ve actually done more than once in their careers, as they’ve worked together in the past.
“It was fabulous. It was like a party every day,” said Fairchild. “We were just catching up and sitting around and reminiscing and making each other laugh. It was kind of like a pajama party in drag.” She first worked with Sheridan in Paper Dolls. “It was nice getting to see her again,” gushed Fairchild. “All those years in between, watching everyone grow and change and then coming together again, it’s fun.”
“We really lived through the golden era of this business,” said Sheridan, with Mills adding, “And that was the ’80s.”
