Ashley Judd shared unedited photos of herself and her sister on Instagram, causing fans to remember their late mother, Naomi Judd. Ashley reminisced about their childhood and showed off her sister walking to the stage for a performance. “This past Friday, she sang in Knoxville, and it was glorious,” she gushed. “My favorite songs are the ones our Mama wrote, so customized for her voice are they.”
Ashley wrote nostalgically about how her “big sister” cared for her growing up, from powdering her as a baby to making her “feel big” with homework and teaching her to drive a 1957 Chevy. “My protector, with whom I compared mosquito bites after we played in eastern Kentucky creeks looking for crawdads,” she added.
Fans were touched by the display of sisterly love from Ashley, who thanked them for “loving my sister and helping to give her life purpose and meaning, and for recognizing that she’s indeed the G.O.A.T.” They could not help but notice the resemblance between the ladies and their late mother, who died by suicide last year. “It’s so cool to see how much you both look like your mom,” someone noted.
Wynonna responded to her little sister’s post, writing, “I love you sister,” while more comments complimenting them poured in. “You both make your Mama proud. Beautiful sisters,” another fan said. A follower commended their choice to leave their photos unedited, showing off their natural beauty. “I’m going to have to take a moment to appreciate this photo. It’s beautiful,” they wrote.
Rumors of a fight for Naomi’s will between the sisters broke out shortly after the country singer passed; however, Wynonna was quick to debunk the claims, noting that she and her sister have no reason to brawl over their mother’s estate as they both live comfortably. “I have such a great life. Ashley has a great life. Why would we be fighting over the will?” she asked.
Ashley is Wynonna’s number one fan, sharing her thoughts about her sister’s talent at every chance, especially after Naomi’s tragic passing. “This is the power of my big sister’s voice. She will blow you away. And she has blown me away with her willingness to show up & sing for our mom during this emotionally harrowing time,” she wrote in June 2022, while thanking their “artist friends who eulogized our beloved mom” during a tribute performance.
