Streisand recounted being captivated by Kristofferson after witnessing his performance at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California. Their connection deepened, evolving into a serious relationship shortly thereafter, marking a significant and cherished episode in her romantic history. “He gave me hickeys on my neck,” she wrote in the book. “Thank God I had a two-piece bathing suit by Rudi Gernreich with a turtleneck top to hide them.”
