Kelly Rizzo’s Stepdaughters Have Strong Feelings About Her Moving On

The sudden death of Bob Saget In January 2022 shocked his fans, friends, and especially his family. He is survived by his ex-wife Sherri Kramer and their three daughters, as well as his second wife Kelly Rizzo. Rizzo has broached the subject of dating again with her stepdaughters, who have strong thoughts on the matter.

Saget, who was 65 when he died, married Rizzo, now 44, in 2018. The two met when he approached the food blogger online; he noticed that her social media pages were “not all selfies and bikinis. Like, she actually does stuff.” Since his passing, Rizzo has been lovingly honoring his memory while also navigating the complicated questions of healing and finding joy again.

Rizzo’s stepdaughters through Saget are Aubrey, 36, Lara, 33, and Jennifer, 30. It is they who have helped Rizzo see through the complicated cloud of emotions as she tries to balance grieving with living, the blogger told Billy Bush for Extra.

“You feel guilty if you have happy moments or if you’re not feeling sad all the time,” shared Rizzo. “You feel guilty about that, but then I learned that’s very normal. Now that enough time has passed, even his girls are always like… ‘That’s silly. Heavenly Bob wants you to be happy.’ Earthly Bob would’ve been like… ‘Not too happy.'”

Rizzo gets help from her stepdaughters and a very full house

Rizzo has gone through several fluid stages of grief that blend together day by day. “I’m still just coming from a place of gratitude,” she explained. “Just being so grateful for the time I had with Bob.”

When asked by Bush if she would accept a date if asked out by somebody, Rizzo answered, “I’m open to it, yes.”

Rizzo has also been supported by the cast of Full House, who spent years with Saget as the TV dad to the charming ABC sitcom. “They’ve been there for me throughout everything,” said Rizzo. Indeed, when news of his passing first broke, Candace Cameron Bure was first through the door to comfort Rizzo, followed by John Stamos, Jodie Sweetin, Jeff Ross, and John Meyer. “From day one, I always said, ‘I just wanted to be surrounded by Bob people, people who knew and loved Bob.’ Of course, I’m not talking to all of them every single day now. But I know if I ever need them, they’re there.”
