Adele Stops Las Vegas Show To Hug Paul McCartney In The Crowd

Concertgoers were treated to seeing not one but two legends in Las Vegas during a recent show. Adele, in the midst of her Vegas residency, stopped midway through her performance when she saw none other than Paul McCartney in the crowd. Then, the stars collided and the two musical powerhouses shared a hug.

35-year-old Adele is performing through to the start of November. With a career that kicked off in 2006, she comes from a different era than the Beatles frontman, 81-year-old McCartney. But the two very readily appreciate the other’s titanic contributions to music – and so could the audience, that night.

Footage online captures the moment Adele saw McCartney among the audience at her recent Las Vegas performance. She began singing “When We Were Young” while strolling through the aisles of The Colosseum. She wore a smile the whole time before she slowed down scanning the audience. She gave a knowing look to one figure in particular.

Then, Adele leaned across the nearby barrier to share a warm hug with McCartney, to the delight of onlookers.

“Wow historical,” one viewer praised online. Another agreed, adding, “It’s a beautiful example of the camaraderie and mutual respect that exists among artists in the entertainment industry.” That venue had been full of stars that night, another viewer reported, and included the likes of Martin Short, Jon Bon Jovi, LeBron James, Symone, and even Jeff Bezos.

Busy season for them both

Though McCartney started dominating the musical landscape back in the ’50s and ’60s, the two artists have much in common. The two have over a dozen Gramophones, making them some of the most-awarded British artists at the Grammys. McCartney has 18 Grammy wins while Adele is close behind at 16 wins.

Adele has a few more weeks to go of her Weekends with Adele residency, which began back in November 18, 2022. But McCartney has also been at work. Recently, he collaborated with Dolly Parton to create a new version of the Beatles classic “Let It Be,” which will be featured in the country singer’s new album, Rockstar, due out November 17.

In short, it’s a great time for music lovers!
