‘Titanic The Musical’ To Make Its Official Theatrical Debut

Titanic the Musical is set to show in over 700 movie theaters nationwide on November 4th and 8th. The musical was produced on Broadway in 1997— with over 800 performances and 26 reviews, making the upcoming theatrical release a celebration of its 26th anniversary on Broadway.

The musical features music and lyrics by Maury Yeston– “Nine, Grand Hotel” and a story from Peter Stone’s Woman of the Year— both multiple award-winning works. The musical itself has won five Tony awards, including Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book.

The ‘Titanic’ story

Titanic the Musical is based on the famous real-life story of the RMS Titanic ship and her first voyage to New York, as well as the tragic fate of those on board from Southampton. The historical disaster of 1912 claimed the lives of over 1,500 men, women, and children after the vessel hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean.

The musical, however, focuses on the lives, dreams, and aspirations of the passengers— each in their respective social classes, with unique life experiences. The wealthy first-class boarders sought to preserve their legacies, the middle class reached for greener pastures to better their lives, while the poor third-class individuals dreamed of a better life in America— all unaware of what was to come.

Cast and crew of ‘Titanic the Musical’

Executive producers of the Stage2Wiew & BroadwayHD collaborative production include Stuart F. Lane, Bonnie Comley, Joshua Andrews, and Stuart Galbraith. The theatrical director was Thom Southerland, while Austin Shaw directed the musical for screen.

Members of the cast, selected by Danielle Tarento, include Martin Allanson, Valda Aviks, Graham Bickley, Sam Brown, James Darch, David Delve, and others. Tickets for the screenings in November will be on sale starting October 6 at Fathom events and designated theater box offices.
