Model Christie Brinkley, who gained fame for featuring on the cover of SI issues for three consecutive years, shared some tips for staying young at 69. The health and beauty enthusiast has always emphasized that women should develop a positive outlook toward aging while also incorporating self-care.
In a recent appearance on Tamron Hall’s talk show, Brinkley shared three tips for staying young. “We want what @christiebrinkley has! She shares her top 3 tips for staying forever young with the Tam Fam,” Hall captioned the video.
“Hi, I’m Christie Brinkley, and three of my favorite tips for staying young are number one: Sunblock. Number two: Eat right — be a vegetarian,” Brinkley said during the interview. “And number three: Be curious, be adventurous — that’ll keep you young.”
She further shared her experience with aging, as she continues to radiate grace and elegance. “I think every woman should declare her age because 69 ain’t what it used to be, and it’s up to us to reshape that number and give it a new image, a makeover,” Brinkley noted.
The actress reminisced on how the media painted her three decades milestone and how they made her feel like 30 “was this number to fear.” However, Brinkley shared that she made sure she enjoyed the day and felt “on top of the world.”
“What’s the big deal about 30? What’s the big deal about 40?” Brinkley told the talk show host and the audience. “If you take good care of yourself, and you eat right, and you exercise, and you have a good mental attitude, that keeps you young.”
The actress concluded that age is just a number and less priority should be placed on it. “In short, age is just a state of mind, so I just don’t think about it,” Brinkley added. “I just want to get up and out into every day. I’m gifted!”
