In October 2022, My Three Sons star, Dawn Lyn, experienced a severe health challenge that required her to undergo a brain tumor removal surgery. Sadly, things took a different turn for the actress as she didn’t recover from the effect of the anesthesia used during the surgery.

Amidst Lyn’s health development, her My Three Sons co-star, Stanley Livingston, provided an update during an interview with Fox News Digital. He shared that the actress is currently in a phase of recovery, and there is an optimistic outlook that she will regain her health and be back on her feet in months.

“I had a brief conversation with her. She struggled to speak, but she was communicating verbally. I hope to visit her in the next couple of weeks. For a while, she wasn’t speaking at all. And then about three months later when I called, she would try and answer some questions, which I felt was a big improvement. She’s slowly coming back,” Stanley told the news outlet. “And when I spoke to her husband, he said she’s been able to utter some words.”

“He can understand her and she’s feeding herself… It gives doctors hope. We’re hoping that with the physical therapy sessions, they’ll have her back on her feet by December,” he added. “It’s just a lot for everybody. And we’re talking about someone who’s 59, 60 years old. You never expect something like this to happen to you.”

Stanley Livingston says Dawn Lyn is a fighter

Despite the actress being in a coma for almost a year, Stanley claims Lyn is putting up a good fight and her health is improving. “The fact that she can speak is a big step,” he shared. “And it gives doctors hope that this individual being treated can recover. And if you keep on fighting, as she has been doing, there can be better days ahead.”

The financial burden that comes with Lyn’s long hospital stay is overwhelming as they’ve paid above $2 million for her medical care. Recently, her husband was left with no choice but to start a GoFundMe so as to continue to cater for her health. “Needless to say, it’s been stressful for her husband,” Stanley admitted. “And it was pretty scary. You can have insurance, you can have great insurance, but for people who have extended stays. your insurance will have a certain cap. And when the money runs out, then what?”
