Her last role was in 2020’s The Life Ahead on Netflix, where she played Madame Rosa, a former sex worker and Holocaust survivor who cared for an orphan boy. Her son, Edoardo Ponti, directed and wrote the film and is known for his work on other productions since the ‘80s.
Although she took a break to focus on family, Loren admits that her love for cinema is here to stay. “Stopped working for a while because I suddenly woke up and thought I don’t see my children or their children or the life that I had built around me,” she said.
