Former Beatle singer Ringo Starr recently experienced a fall while performing alongside his All-Starr Band at the Rio Rancho Events Center, New Mexico. Thankfully, the 83-year-old didn’t sustain any injury as he struggled well enough to position himself for a safe landing.
A video obtained by TMZ, which captured the stage flaw, showed the musician taking a brief break at the side of the stage while his band continued to perform the encore, “Give Peace a Chance.” However, as the legend climbed back up the grand stage, he tripped and fell.
Following the unexpected fall, the seasoned musician displayed remarkable resilience and a swift recovery. Without missing a beat, Ringo quickly approached a nearby microphone as he seamlessly joined his group, engaging in a spirited rendition of the chorus.
In a delightful display of humor and grace, moments after the performance, Starr decided to lighten the mood and acknowledge the incident that had just occurred. With his trademark wit, he cracked a joke about the unexpected fall. “I fell over just to tell you that,” he said before stepping off the stage.
Starr has a successful music career spanning over six decades, and the legend is still invested in making good music and collaborating with other musicians.
“I can be surprised, I mean, I’m on a lot of people’s records,” he admitted. “I like to do it for my friends. But sometimes people take a chance. Now, I’ll be inundated! No, I only do my friends [laughs]. I play the drums, and then we put them on the track, and we send it back. This was what we did to Dolly’s. Use me or lose me!”
