That ‘70s Show star, Danny Masterson, was recently sentenced to thirty years to life in prison after he was found guilty of multiple rape cases—two counts of forcible rape. An interview clip from NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien from 2004 resurfaced on social media amid the allegations.
The clip with the caption “Danny Masterson sentenced to 30 years to life for raping 2 women….Conan knew” featured the show host, Conan warning Danny that he would get caught. The conversation started as banter, with Conan asking about Danny’s lack of a Long Island accent. The discussion took another turn when the actor said his accent “just goes away naturally, and then there’s also certain words that there’s nothing you can do about.”

Danny joked that his friend and fellow actor, Bodhi Elfman, “always teases him” by saying, “Hi, my name is Danny Masterson, would you like to touch my balls?” with an accent. “So why are you asking people to do that? That’s the more important question,” Conan asked, making the conversation more intense.

“I mean, you got ’em, you know what I mean? Everybody should grab,” Danny continued, to which the show host responded that he had heard about Danny and he ‘would be caught soon.’ “I know you will,” he assured. Conan seemed unfazed as he responded with, “I will.”
Danny’s team argues the acts were consensual
After a series of back and forth, Danny was charged with two rape cases in May, the third count inconclusive. Although he did not testify, his team insisted that Danny did all the sexual acts with consent. On Thursday, the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, Charlaine Olmedo, sentenced him, saying, “You are not the victim here, your actions 20 years ago were criminal.”
It has also been alleged that Danny used his connections within the Church of Scientology to avoid consequences for several years. Deadline reported that upon parole or release, Danny would be a registered sex offender.
