Lynda Carter’s Daughter Gets Married In Dress Honoring Late Father

Lynda Carter‘s only daughter, Jessica Altman, got married this May in an intimate ceremony that celebrated love and family. In 2021, mother and daughter mourned the loss of Carter’s husband, Robert Altman. Jessica’s dress paid tribute to her late father in a subtle but powerful way.

Carter and Altman met in 1982 at a dinner hosted by Maybelline, while Carter was in the process of splitting from her first husband, only to feel an instant connection she did not expect. The two married in ’84 and had two children: James (1988) and Jessica (1990). Here is the latest in the family’s personal milestones, a most poignant celebration.

Jessica Altman honored her father with her wedding dress

Jessica officially married Ross Uhrich on May 13 and on May 28 the couple had an official wedding ceremony witnessed by immediate family members and officiated by Maryland appellate court judge Laura S. Ripken. Later in the summer, Altman took to Instagram to share photos from the event. In the pictures, she is seen wearing a figure-hugging white outfit and lacy veil while beaming up at husband Ross.

Jessica’s veil was designed by her friend Alison Miller, who runs a bridal accessory store called Monvieve. The dress itself was designed by Jean Paul Gaultier. It was primarily made of silk and charmeuse – but it did bear a meaningful twist. A piece of one of Robert’s shirts had been sewn into the fabric. Gaultier’s designers also used leftover shirt fabric to make a pillow for the couple’s wedding rings to sit on.

Carter and Jessica keep Robert’s memory close to their hearts

Jessica and Ross met through the dating app Bumble back in 2017. When they hit it off, Jessica told her mother she met someone she felt certain Carter would love and that Robert would have approved of. Indeed, Carter has named herself a big fan of Ross, appreciating his work ethic and his way of laughing at all her jokes and even called him a “Renaissance man.”

Like her mom, Jessica didn’t anticipate striking a deep connection but now is utterly smitten. Without Robert, Jessica was walked down the aisle by her brother James. The whole event was a tribute to family and loved ones, as a string quartet began playing the song “Clumsy,” written by Jessica herself detailing her experience of falling in love with Ross.
