Cher Reveals Her Personal Secret To Staying Young

Cher proves the saying that wine gets finer with age. The 77-year-old’s beauty and youthfulness remain a topic among fans and the public. The music icon graciously shared the secrets that help her appear young and classy despite aging.

She also stated that the feeling of aging has not dawned on her yet. “I am who I am,” she said. “I just can’t believe I will be 80 at some point, sooner than I wish.” During her 77th birthday in May, she also affirmed her perception of her age with a tweet saying she is yet to feel old.

How does Cher keep it chic in her 70s?

In an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Cher shared her secret to looking young, claiming it is quite simple. “And I will still be wearing my jeans and I will still be wearing long hair and I will still be doing the same stuff I’ve always done,” she said.

Cher is not ready to give up youthfulness, such as dressing, because she still feels young. “I remember when my friend Paulette and I were talking about when we were going to have to cut our hair and stop wearing jeans because it seemed like, in those days, that’s what women did— and it hasn’t hit yet.”

Aside from stocking up on jeans and letting her hair down, Cher is thankful for good genes. “The genes in my family are pretty amazing,” she gushed. “More importantly, youth starts from the mind and easing into the idea naturally.”

“I don’t know if not feeling old makes you younger. I’m not trying to feel young. I’m not trying to be young. I am who I am. I’m just getting along,” she added. Unlike most people her age, Cher still maintains her rich dark hair,  and she revealed in an interview with People in 2022 that she would never rock silver hair.

Cher also adhered to a fitness and yoga routine to stay physically healthy, and enjoy some ice cream occasionally. She recently started a gelato company— Cherlato, which comprises unique flavors like avocado and crispy breadcrumbs. “I’m kind of a chocolate person myself,” she admitted.
