Following the devastating Hawaii wildfire – which primarily affected the island of Maui and had, as of the most recent count, resulted in ninety-nine confirmed fatalities – Oscar Award Winner Matthew McConaughey and his son, Levi, have stepped in to provide emergency aid to cushion the effect of the disaster on the survivors.
Teaming up with Baby2Baby, a nonprofit organization that provides diapers, clothes, and other necessities for children in poverty in the Los Angeles area and disaster areas across the United States, McConaughey and Levi are sponsoring a flight carrying aid to survivors.

In the clip, the father and son conveyed their extreme sadness for individuals who have lost their residences and dear ones to the tragic event. “The fires over there have put so many people out of homes and have taken so many lives,” McConaughey stated. “These people need to stabilize to stay alive.”
McConaughey also used the opportunity to call for support from well-meaning individuals to join him and his family to help the inhabitants of Maui. “Camila, myself, and Levi are working with this organization called Baby2Baby. They are working with partners that are on the ground in Maui, saying, ‘This is what people need right now. This is what the most needy people need,'” he added. “If you’d like to help, check out Baby2Baby. See the work they’re doing or any other way you can help. There’s a lot of help that’s needed. If you would like to support relief efforts, please visit @baby2baby – @jklivinfoundation.”
