Recently, Ohio couple Roger and Beverly Kunkle celebrated an impressive milestone in their love life — eight decades of marriage, which they celebrated in the presence of family and friends. The Kunkles’ journey began early, during their time as students in rural Fulton County. The bond that blossomed as sweethearts at Fayette High School culminated in marriage three months after graduation in May 1943.
Roger devoted his life to farming, while Beverly focused on raising their family, which has over time expanded to include four children, ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The Ohio Couple is big on collaboration
Even after 80 years of marriage, the couple still do household chores together. While Beverly makes the meal, Rogers helps with the laundry and dishes.

“We have a good breakfast. We have eggs and toast, I sit on a stool at the stove. I don’t try to walk, I run the washing machine and he helps hang the clothes up, and he does some of the dishes,” Beverly explained. “That’s what he did to the cups. He runs them in the dishwasher and melted the plastic.”
The secret behind their successful marriage
Roger and Beverly also disclosed the key to maintaining their marriage for a long time. “You have ups and downs, and you stick it out,” she shared.
Roger also mentioned that having a strong and supportive family contributes to their enduring marriage. “You know, we got a good bunch,” he confessed. “We’ve been all together for I don’t know how long. We haven’t lost any children. We lost a granddaughter, but otherwise, we’ve had a nice bunch.”
Congratulations to Roger and Beverly Kunkle, and here’s to many more years together!
