Nine years after their successful collaboration in True Detective, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are reuniting for a new Apple TV+ series. In contrast to their previous project, they plan to deliver plenty of laughs this time.

A press statement released on March 14 by Apple TV+ revealed that the show will focus on the fantastic friendship between the two actors. “The untitled comedy is a heartfelt odd couple love story revolving around the strange and beautiful bond between Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson,” the statement reads. “Matthew and Woody’s friendship is tested when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew’s ranch in Texas.”

The yet-to-be-named series, which will comprise ten half-hour episodes, is the brainchild of Emmy-winning creator David West Read who is recognized for his work as one of the executive producers in Schitt’s Creek and The Big Door Prize.

Interestingly, in an interview with Metro, Harrelson acknowledged that McConaughey played a pivotal role in convincing him to join the first season of the HBO anthology in 2014. “I love Matthew McConaughey, he’s like a brother to me,” he admitted to the news outlet. “I honestly wouldn’t have done it, except that Matthew was doing it. He jumped into it and said ‘Yes’ before any other actors were involved. He related to the writing and knew how good it was from just the two episodes he’d read.”
