The inspiration behind Lola’s debut single

While promoting the song, Lola told Billboard what inspired her to sing “Paranoia Silver Lining.” “The song is about the idea that sometimes your biggest fears are all in your head. I think a lot of people get paranoid, and the silver lining of it all is that there’s really nothing to be paranoid about,” she said.

She added that making her first release was a therapeutic process. “I think everyone came to a bunch of realizations while writing it because we’re all pretty paranoid,” she explained. Lola, who is the second child of Mark and Kelly, dropped “Divine Timing” in July 2023. “I’ve already had the nerves of putting out my first single and people hearing my voice for the first time,” she told People magazine. “So it’s really exciting and definitely less nerve-wracking.”
