Brigitte Bardot Treated For Breathing Problems By Emergency Services At Her Saint-Tropez Residence

Brigitte Bardot’s appearance in the 1956 film And God Created Woman made her an international star and established her as a symbol of the French New Wave cinema. The actress consolidated her fame all through the ’50s and ’60s as one of the most iconic and celebrated sex symbols of her time, winning fans over with her beauty, sensuality, and free-spirited attitude before retiring from acting in 1973 at the age of 39

Recently, Brigitte, who is now 88 years old, experienced a medical emergency — breathing difficulties that necessitated the immediate attention of first responders at her home.

Following the incident at her Saint-Tropez abode, one of her representatives revealed to Fox News Digital that the actress experienced a health scare due to a scorching heat wave, but assured that she is now in the process of recovering.

“Brigitte Bardot is much better,” the spokesperson told the news outlet. “She is resting after her respiratory problem due to the heat wave [with] the temperature in St Tropez exceeding 40° Celsius [104° Fahrenheit].”

Her husband gives details about the actress’ emergency health scare

Bardot’s husband, Bernard d’Ormale, confirmed the news and provided clarification on what had happened. In a statement to Var-matin, he shared that the ambulances had initially gone to the wrong address before reaching the couple’s residence after the distress call. “It was around 9 a.m. when Brigitte had trouble breathing,” d’Ormale told the outlet. “It was harder than usual, but she didn’t lose consciousness. Let’s call it a moment of respiratory distraction. The firefighters arrived, gave her oxygen to breathe, and stayed for a moment to watch her.”

He also stated that the emergency personnel promptly addressed the health concern upon their arrival, and he expressed confidence that the actress would continue her recovery in the comfort of their home. “Like all people of a certain age, she can no longer bear the heat,” d’Ormale added. “It happens at 88, she must not make unnecessary efforts.”
