Brigitte Nelson recently shared an adorable photo of herself with her youngest daughter Frida on her 60th birthday. The mother and daughter posed in matching blue and white dresses, with the same bag each that read, “courage rocks.” To spice up her look, Frida had pink sunglasses on her head as she held up a paper fan to strike a pose for the picture.
In June 2018, Brigitte and her 44-year-old husband, Mattia Dessi, welcomed Frida in their twelfth year of marriage. “We are overjoyed to welcome our beautiful daughter into our lives. It’s been a long road, and so worth it. We’ve never been more in love,” the couple told People at the time. Brigitte had planned for herself and Dessi’s kids since she was 40 by deciding to freeze her eggs instead of using donor eggs. Brigitte spent up to a decade of In-Vitro Fertilization treatment before having Frida.

After Frida’s birth, Brigitte spoke of the challenges of motherhood, especially due to her advanced maternal age. “It is such a long road. I want women to know that everything is possible, but you have to be realistic,” she said. “Another thing is it is expensive. It doesn’t come easy or cheap if you do it my way. I want people to know that,” she added.

For Brigitte, raising a toddler at her age has been fun so far, with the actress having her little one to thank for giving her energy. “…she gives me so much energy. Since she was born, I wake up excited every day,” Brigitte said. Aside from Frida, Brigitte is also a mother to four adult sons from her previous marriages– Raoul, Douglas, Killian, and Julian.
Brigitte’s tips for staying fit
Brigitte shared the year before that she aimed to stay fit ahead of her 60s, and it appeared she has kept to that goal. The actress added that she put work into losing weight after birthing her daughter through daily swims, exercise, and veggie-packed food. “I like to keep in shape, but I don’t spend 10 hours a day in the gym,” she noted.
Brigitte also revealed that she used to be hard on herself about getting older, but she has learned to embrace and enjoy the process. “I’m very happy with how I look. Of course, I look older— I am older— but when I look in the mirror, I think, ‘Man, you look good.’ I used to be very hard on myself, but I’m much kinder now,” the former reality TV star said.
