On April 12, Jamie Foxx had been hospitalized and fans had limited information on the actor’s condition until a May 12 update finally revealed he had been released and was “recuperating.” Now, Foxx has been spotted in public for the first time since his health ordeal began months ago.
Foxx’s family had kept details about his condition private, asking only that fans “pray for Jamie.” By time of writing, the cause of his hospitalization is still reported as undisclosed. However, based on additional testimony from his family, he is on the mend and in good spirits, even playing some sports.

Foxx has made two public appearances over the weekend. TMZ reported that Foxx had been out and about in Chicago on Saturday. Then, video footage showed him waving to fans from a yacht along the Chicago River on Sunday, waving to others while passing a nearby boat. Life on the water has been the name of the game for Foxx, who shared a Twitter post on June 9 that reads, “Boat life Celebrating summer with @brownsugarbbn Stay blessed!”

The video footage, shared by the Daily Loud Twitter page, notes that Foxx “looks healthy as he waves to fans from a boat.”
Many comments in both posts have offered well wishes to Foxx, with one supporter celebrating, “I am glad to see he is doing well. I’ve never stopped praying for his recovery since I heard about his condition.” Some, though, felt that something felt off about either the video or Foxx, suggesting perhaps he is not yet fully recovered.

Foxx had been in the hospital for several weeks until, roughly a month later, his family announced his return home; though, even then, he stayed mostly out of the public eye. However, he did keep himself busy, as his daughter happily shared. Corinne took to Instagram to clear the air about Foxx’s condition and address how the news had been disseminated.
“Sad to see how the media runs wild,” she said, before revealing, “My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!” She also promised an “exciting work announcement,” though still no details about Foxx’s condition.
Part of that is in keeping with Foxx’s own wishes. Actor and friend of Foxx Kevin Hart noted on an episode of Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast “Jamie’s always been a private person to a certain degree.”
