The 70-year-old brought his comedic talent to the role, portraying Wayne as a lovable and bumbling inventor with a genuine heart.

Sadly, Rick didn’t enjoy the spotlight so much as he lost his wife to cancer in 1991, and this forced him to make the hard decision of taking a break from the big screen to focus on his role as a single father. “I took a break, which turned into a longer break, but I’m interested in anything that I would find interesting,” he revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I still get the occasional query about a film or television role and as soon as one comes along that piques my interest.”

“A lot of u ask me what’s going on with this film,” he wrote in the tweet alongside a mock-up poster for the film designed by artist BossLogic. “Truth is, we were inches from starting, and then COVID hit, inches from starting again & then my schedule exploded with conflicts, inches from starting again & budget got the best of us.”
