At 92 years of age, William Shatner is allegedly considering a facelift. It is reported by RadarOnline that, allegedly, a strong part of Shatner’s motivation comes from wanting to please his wife, 64-year-old Elizabeth Martin.
Boasting a career that spans over seven decades and counting, the Star Trek alum has been married four times. He and Martin got together back in 2001. The two filed for divorce in 2019, but sources claimed back in February that the two are seeing each other again. To further his chances at rekindling some romance, Shatner is reportedly looking into a facelift.
Shatner has long been transparent about his feelings regarding aging. He has remained active in the spotlight to this day and likes to keep himself busy in all aspects of life, from professional to personal. “I know that good, healthy aging comes from not being solitary or brooding,” he’s said. “Say yes to the opportunities life is offering.”
But he has also kept him familiar with outside methods of keeping himself young – physically and visually. For example, he received a special stem cell treatment that systemically delivered restorative factors. He announced this approach on Twitter with a post, “Is it possible to turn back the clock? I will let you know?”
So, going for a facelift wouldn’t be uncharted territory for Shatner.
An insider claims that the facelift, in particular, is motivated out of love. “His lifestyle is pretty relentless for someone his age, but he’s not immortal and is fretting about the lines and wrinkles marring his looks,” the alleged insider claims. “He still thinks of himself as a suave ladies’ man, but these days the only woman he’s interested in is Elizabeth. He wants to look nice and youthful for her, but what he sees in the mirror is something else entirely.”
However, Shatner’s representative dismisses these claims. “My boss tells me that every time he looks in the mirror, he sees Captain Kirk but then his eyesight is fading,” the rep told RadarOnline.
In general, Shatner has been acutely aware of death’s inevitability, especially after his trip to space on Jeff Bezos’s ship, Blue Origin, which, at 90, made him the oldest person to ever fly in space. Seeing Earth from that angle put things into a new perspective. As he gets older, shouldered with this unique experience, he’s also mused, “The sad thing is that the older a person gets the wiser they become and then they die with all that knowledge, and it’s gone.”
