You didn’t order the National Lampoon’s Vacation cast reunion? FAN EXPO Chicago is the place to be for fans of some of the most nostalgic content out there, from The Addams Family to RoboCop. Fans of the National Lampoon series will get to see Chevy Chase and Christie Brinkley reunite 40 decades after their first road trip.
National Lampoon’s Vacation, sometimes simply referred to as Vacation, is a road trip comedy that featured Brinkley in her acting debut as the Girl in Red Ferrari. Chase, meanwhile, starred for the first time as Clark W. Griswold. Its box office success and praise from critics spawned five sequels and a fanbase that endures to this day.

Back in April, the official Twitter page for FAN EXPO Chicago announced more of its star-studded lineup for the late summer. “Who’s that pulling up beside us?” the post reads. “Christie Brinkley (The Girl in the Red Ferrari) is joining Chevy Chase (Clark Griswold) as the cast of National Lampoon’s Vacation make their way to FAN EXPO Chicago.”

The event itself will run from August 10 through the 13 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. Brinkley will be around specifically on Saturday and Sunday, offering autographs and table photos for $80. Nerds and Beyond reports that premium autographs and photo ops are $100. A duo photo op with both Chase and Brinkley will cost $245.
The Windy City becomes memory lane
FAN EXPO Chicago calls itself “the ultimate go-to event for sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming event in Chicago.” Its adventure began in ’72 as Chicago Comic Con before being dubbed Wizard World Chicago in ’98. Its previous celebrity guest lineup has included the likes of Stan “the Man” Lee, John Travolta, Carrie Fisher, Lea Thompson, John Cena, and many more.
“Everyone is a fan of something, and FAN EXPO Chicago is a place to celebrate all things pop culture,” its website reads. This year, fans of something can see Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd reunite outside the DeLorean, along with the talented Andy Serkis, the celebrated Giancarlo Esposito, Henry Winkler, Christina Ricci, and many more.
