Johnny Depp turned 60 recently while on the European leg of his tour with his band, the Hollywood Vampires. The group started off the tour with a concert at Bucharest’s Romexpo arena in Romania on Thursday night.

The Romania show was to be held a bit earlier but had to be postponed due to Depp suffering a fractured ankle. However, the reschedule came just in time for Depp’s birthday as the actor’s bandmate, Alice Cooper, asked fans to sing “Happy Birthday” to him as the clock struck midnight.

What is Depp up to?

Before Thursday’s performance, Depp had an interview with a Romanian TV crew where he discussed his acting career, the band— Hollywood Vampires, and a movie he is directing, Modigliani. “I’m gonna direct a movie in September,” he said.

Depp will be working alongside Al Pacino and Barry Navidi, who are co-producers. “It’s basically two days in the life of [early 20th century Italian artist] Amedeo Modigliani. I want to only the films that mean something to me, or at least something I feel like I can add to,” he added.
