Loretta Lynn’s Daughters Honors Late Mother’s Legacy

The twin daughters of the iconic country music legend Loretta Lynn have broken their silence following their mother’s passing on October 4, 2022. Recently, the duo granted a public interview where they discuss their late mom.

Peggy Lynn and Patsy Lynn Russell appeared on the Today show, where they opened up about their cherished memories with their late mother and also shed light on the labor of love they embarked upon together to bring Lynn’s final literary work, A Song and A Prayer: 30 Devotions Inspired by My Favorite Songs to fruition.

The twins also further shared that during the last Mother’s Day celebration, they took time out to pay tribute to Loretta by baking her homemade banana pudding for the family. “And when all else failed, that’s what we could get her to eat,” Peggy confessed while Patsy added. “You know we are from a big family… you surround yourself with family on those days that are hard, that’s what gets you through it.”

Lynn’s daughters admitted that their mother was very hard-working

The twins confessed that Loretta was a very hardworking person and that they took pride in their mom’s unwavering commitment to work until the time she died. “Mom was one of those people who…was working on several different things,” Peggy admitted. “She was still writing songs, and all kinds of stuff…she just always had so many irons in the fire,” while Patsy in agreement with her sister shared that their mother held a firm belief in the power of creativity, stating that “creativity is creativity… and no matter what, you never stop.”
