On April 11, Jamie Foxx suffered a medication episode and was rushed to the hospital. Information has been limited as Foxx remained hospitalized since then. However, Foxx, as well as friends and colleagues, have broken their silence and provided updates on the singer-actor’s health.

55-year-old Foxx, born Eric Marlon Bishop, is known for his roles in Django Unchained, Dreamgirls, Annie, Baby Driver, and more. His portrayal of Ray Charles in 2004’s Ray earned Foxx the Academy Award, BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. His family classified his emergency as a “medical complication” and friends are asking for prayers for Foxx through this uncertain time.

After three weeks of hospitalization, Foxx has broken his silence. Just this week, he took to Instagram to share a post voicing thanks for the support he had been receiving. “Appreciate all the love,” the text reads. “Feeling blessed.” The post itself does not have a caption and the text is only visible against a black background, with no other images indicating where Foxx is or how he looks after his long stay.

By time of writing, neither Foxx nor his family have specified what his “medical complication” was. Since 2017, Foxx has hosted the musical game show Beat Shazam, remaining a mainstay part of the program since its inception. Corinne has also been involved in the show. In Foxx’s absence, Nick Cannon has offered to fill in as host, while Kelly Osbourne serves as guest DJ.
