The Hollywood Walk of Fame will be honoring the late actress Carrie Fisher who is known for her role in the Star Wars franchise, with a posthumous star on May 4th. However, Fisher’s three siblings will not be present at the ceremony to commemorate their sister’s achievements.

Joely Fisher, one of Carrie’s sisters, recently shared on Instagram on May 3rd that she, along with her siblings Tricia Lee Fisher and Todd Fisher, were intentionally left out of the event by Billie Lourd who is the only child of their late sister, whom she shared with ex-husband Bryan Lourd.

The 55-year-old stated in her post that her late sister loved all of her family members and would have wanted them all to be in attendance. “This is something Carrie would have definitely wanted her siblings to be present for. The fact that her only brother and two sisters were intentionally and deliberately excluded is deeply shocking,” Joely said. “We have all been grieving the loss of our favorite human for some years now we have given Billie the space to do that in her own way. We have been nothing but loving and open, consistently.”

Joely further explained that she and her siblings were not seeking to be at the Walk of Fame ceremony because of the funfair. “This isn’t about a photo op on Hollywood Blvd this is about celebrating the permanency of Carrie’s legacy in this industry, taking her place with a star on the iconic walk of fame alongside our parents,” Joey added. “We thank the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for honoring our sister in this way. May the Fourth Be with you.”

Billie Lourd responds to the allegations made by her mom’s siblings

Recently, Billie Lourd responded to the comments made by her late mother’s siblings in a statement to Today.com. “I have seen the postings and press release issued by my mother’s brother and sister. I apologize to anyone reading this for feeling the need to defend myself publicly from these family members,” she said. “But unfortunately, because they publicly attacked me, I have to publicly respond. The truth is I did not invite them to this ceremony. They know why.”

Instagram

She further explained that when Carrie Fisher died in 2016 at the age of 60, all of her mom’s siblings commercialized her death and reaped massively from it. “Her brother and her sister chose to process their grief publicly and capitalize on my mother’s death, by doing multiple interviews and selling individual books for a lot of money,” Lourd told the outlet. “With my mom and my grandmother’s deaths as the subject.”
