John Francis Bongiovi Jr., professionally known as Jon Bon Jovi, is the frontman of the rock band Bon Jovi and an amazing dad of four. He takes immense pride in his kids and shares a close bond with them and their mother, Dorothea Bongiovi.
In a recent interview with People, the singer talked about his family’s closeness and how they quarantined together at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. “For about a month, our whole family was intact. Then the big kids finally said, ‘We’re out,’ and made a run for it,” Bon Jovi told the publication. “Our focus has always been family first and making sure that people are doing well.”
Meet Jon Bon Jovi’s four children:
Stephanie Rose Giovi
Stephanie is the first child and only daughter of Jon and Dorothea Bongiovi, whom they welcomed in 1993. Following her birth, Jon wrote the song “I’ve Got the Girl” for her, and during a 2017 performance of the song, he dedicated it to her, and she joined him on stage for a dance. “Everybody’s got a little girl in their life,” Bon Jovi said during the performance. “Their daughter, their girlfriend, their wife, their mamma — it all goes by so fast. And they start out as little bitty babies, and their future’s looking bright. And I wrote this song for that little baby, who’s now not such a little baby anymore.”

Stephanie experienced a drug overdose and was found unconscious in her dorm room whilst she was a student at Hamilton College in 2017. Speaking to Metro at the time, Bon Jovi described his daughter’s hospitalization as one of the scariest moments. “It was my worst moment as a father. The first thing she said was, I’m all right, but then she said this is what happened,” he told the news outlet. “You wake up, you shake it off and put your shoes on and say okay, I am on the way home.”
The 30-year-old currently works as a camera operator, and she has credits for TV series such as Impractical Jokers.
Jesse Bongiovi
Jesse is the oldest son of the rockstar and his wife, whom they welcomed in 1995. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and co-owns a Rosé company with his dad, and Gérard Bertrand called Hampton Water which they launched in 2018.
Bon Jovi revealed to Haute Living that Jesse had always loved Rosé drink. “He always had it around the house — it was his drink of choice. He always jokingly would call rosé ‘pink juice.’ And one night — it was more like 2 a.m. — he offered us a glass of ‘pink juice.’ Me and [Ali] started making fun of it. We were literally like, ‘Come on, you’re in the Hamptons, you don’t call it that, you call it Hampton water because when you drink with us, that’s what we call it,” Bon Jovi told the publication. “He kind of lit up and started laughing.”
In August 2022, Jesse got engaged to his girlfriend Jesse Light. The proposal took place at Surf Lodge in East Hampton, New York, where the couple had initially met.
Jake Bongiovi
Jake is the third child of Jon and Dorothea, he attended Syracuse University. In 2018, the 21-year-old organized a national student walkout to protest the government’s response to the mass school shooting that occurred in Parkland, Florida. Jake has also followed in his father’s footsteps as an actor, and his IMDb profile shows two upcoming projects: Sweethearts, starring Kiernan Shipka and Nico Hiraga, and a comedy film about an ’80s hair band, Rockbottom.
Also, Jake made headlines when he announced his engagement to Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown. The lovers confirmed their relationship on Instagram when Millie shared a photo of them kissing on the London Eye.
Romeo Bongiovi
Bon Jovi and Dorothea’s welcomed their fourth child, Romeo, in 2004. The 18-year-old, who attends high school in Manhattan, tends to keep a low profile as he does not have any social media accounts. Although he attended a few red carpet-events with his parents when he was younger, he currently stays out of the public eye.
Also, the singer and his wife have shared that they are eagerly anticipating becoming empty-nesters once Romeo graduates from high school. “Yes! I might finally get out of high school!” Dorothea said. “Just not being stuck to a schedule and being able to travel [will be nice]. But we like to see our kids. It’s not like we’re going to disappear.”
