Matthew McConaughey has been cast as the voice of Elvis Presley in the new animated series Agent Elvis. Elvis’ ex-wife Priscilla Presley, shared her excitement after the casting decision was made for the Netflix show.
Priscilla and John Eddie are teaming up with Netflix for the show. Priscilla shared a promo photo of the series, premiering next month, and wrote, “So excited to have Matthew McConaughey bringing his cool swagger to the role of Agent Elvis in our upcoming Netflix animated series! Elvis would’ve loved this! Alright, Alright, Alright!”
The show will follow an animated Elvis as he joins a secret government spy program and helps capture the bad buys. Netflix shared a sneak peek of the show last week and said that Elvis always dreamed of being a superhero.
In the promo, Elvis, voiced by Matthew, says, “Every once in a while, man accomplishes the impossible. All it takes is someone with a dream. Cause when a man dreams, he can change the world.” The series is an adult animation, not for kids.
Priscilla added, “It’s giving him what he always wanted: to be a secret agent. Elvis has brought so many people together. He was so caring, so considerate, sensitive, of course – it’s like the fans are like him…because they’ve been gracious, loyal, brought their families, and keep coming back. It really is like one big huge family.”
