Christmas fell on a weekend this year, giving families plenty of time to prepare for – then catch their breath after – the holiday. That also means there’s been a slew of sweet photos and videos from the occasion. Sylvester Stallone was among those sharing festive Christmas content as he celebrated with his family.
It’s been an eventful, emotional year for Stallone and his family, as he and his wife of 25 years Jennifer Flavin nearly split up. So it was especially meaningful to see the couple, along with their daughters, securely together again in time for this holiday of togetherness.

Over the weekend, Stallone took to Instagram to share a home video starring himself, Flavin, and their daughters. “Hope everyone’s having a wonderful Christmas day,” he captioned the post. The accompanying video shows the family members standing arm-in-arm showing off their fluffy footwear. Other family members were also present, including Stallone’s brother Frank, who can be heard saying, “Okay, who needs a pedicure?”

As the video shows off everyone’s cozy slippers, Stallone assures, “Not me. I’m certainly not in need of one.” Stallone also recently learned just how much his daughters needed to know he’s interested in their lives; once he became more family-oriented, his daughters went from one-word replies to full conversations. “When a daughter knows you care, she’s there forever,” Stallone noted.
Play together, stay together
This Christmas could have looked very different for Stallone and the family, as he and Flavin were close to splitting. As recently as mid-August, Flavin had filed for “dissolution of marriage and other relief.” Then, it was only in late September that the couple reconciled, with Stallone calling it “a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family.” The family had “amicably and privately addressing these personal issues.”
Indeed, togetherness was the theme of this Christmas for the Stallone family. “Family that plays together stays together,” said Frank in his own post featuring the slippers video. “The Stallone family wishes everyone a merry Christmas.” That’s what this time of the year is for, after all, as Stallone noted after the near split, “It takes precedence over my work, and that was a hard lesson to learn.”
Hope everyone had a happy, loving holiday season!
