Bond Girl Lana Wood Says She Survived Homelessness

Lana Wood will always be known as the late Natalie Wood’s sister and as a Bond girl in the 1971 film Diamonds Are Forever. These days, she’s returning to work and now stars in the film Dog Boy. The story hits a little close to home. In Dog Boy, Lana plays a Hollywood movie star named Vera Summers who is close to financial ruin.

In real life, Lana admitted that she has survived homelessness. She lost her home in 2017 and was living in a motel with her daughter, son-in-law, three grandchildren, and two dogs. They were hit with medical bills and sadly, her daughter passed away that year from heart failure at just 42 years old.

Lana said the support from fans helped as well as a GoFundMe that someone set up to help her. She shared, “It meant the world to me, it really did. I just never imagined that people would help. I’m extremely grateful. They got my heart. Losing [my daughter] was an incredible trauma for the kids.”

She continued, “But I’m still taking care of my grandchildren who live with me. They’ve always been with me. We’ve got a little house, we’ve got our dogs and cats. We’ve got each other. We argue over cooking and meals. One of the kids is being homeschooled and I’m there with him trying to understand algebra. But I’m very content.”
