Heather Rae Young Is Pregnant With Her First Child With Tarek El Moussa

Following his divorce from Flip or Flop co-host Christina Haack, with whom he has two children (Taylor, born on September 22, 2010, and Brayden on August 19, 2015, in 2018) he began dating Selling Sunset actress and real estate agent Heather Rae Young in 2019. The couple married on October 23, 2021, at Miramar Beach in Montecito. Their wedding was featured on Discovery+ special as Tarek and Heather: The Big I Do.

She made an Instagram announcement recently where she posted pictures of her baby bump with the caption, “Surprise!!! Baby El Moussa coming early 2023!!”. Heather, who had been trying to conceive for quite some time, shockingly told her husband about her pregnancy, which surprised him.

Heather Told Tarek About The Pregnancy

According to an Instagram video posted on July 14, she gave Tarek a strange box that he opened only to find a positive pregnancy test; upon seeing the result, Tarek, still in shock, asked his wife,” “Are you pregnant?” which answered with a nod. “Holy s–t! So many questions. I told you to take a pregnancy test!” the HGTV star shouted.

In a recently published interview with McKenzie Schmidt of PEOPLE, Heather discussed the journey and how she discovered the good news. The couple, who had already been taking an In-vitro fertilization regimen, was surprised by the pregnancy. “It was a huge shock. We just weren’t expecting this, had just gone through IVF, had embryos on ice and We had a plan,” she said to PEOPLE.

She also stated that the discovery of the pregnancy all began with Tarek, who had an unusual feeling and advised his wife to take a pregnancy test. She took the test thrice, with two of it not detecting the pregnancy until the third one, which confirmed her state. “I was organizing my clothes, I was just doing other things, and probably like 20 minutes later, I was like, ‘Oh, the pregnancy test.’ I went and looked, and it said full-on pregnant,” she said.

Heather Talks About The Unexpected Happened

“When we first started dating three years ago, we went into our relationship not planning on having children together. I really love being a bonus mom to Taylor and Brayden. They’re such incredible kids, and I love them so much,” Heather told PEOPLE. According to their earlier scheme, the duo had no plans to have children.

However, things changed as their relationship grew, which gave her the urge to have Tarek’s children. “But as your love grows more and more and you fall deeper in love with someone and you build this life together, I started picturing myself having a child with Tarek. I started thinking I just wanted to create something with the man that I’m in love with,” she stated.

Selling Sunset Co-Stars Celebrates The Pregnancy

Fellow stars of Heather had a fabulous lunch with the expecting mother at the Beverly Hills Hotel to celebrate her pregnancy. On Thursday, co-star Chrishell Stause posted pictures from the get-together held to honor Heather.

The pictures had other cast members like Mary Fitzgerald, Chelsea Lazkani, and Emma Hernan. Captioning the array of photos, she wrote, “Ladies who lunch. HUGE congrats to @heatherraeyoung. We were all dying to paw her cute baby bump!”
