Barbara Bush recently posed in an adorable new photo of herself twinning in white with her daughter, 6-month-old Cora Georgia. They both wore white dresses together as Barbara held Cora on her lap, posing for the photo. Cora appeared to be in good spirits, cracking a smile as she stared off into the distance.
Barbara welcomed Cora Georgia into the world back in September 2021 with husband Craig Coyne, in Portland, Maine’s Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. She was named after Barbara’s late grandmother, the former first lady.

Barbara’s father, best known to us all as former president George W. Bush, announced the birth of his granddaughter via Instagram post at the time. “With full hearts, @laurawbush and I are delighted to announce the birth of our new granddaughter,” he wrote. “Barbara gave birth to Cora Georgia Coyne on September 27, 2021, in Maine — not far from our family home where Barbara and Craig were married. Cora is healthy and adorable, and we are proud and grateful.”

Barbara’s twin sister, Jenna Bush-Hager of Today, revealed on the show that Cora Georgia actually showed up in the world six weeks early. It was in a heartwarming Instagram post that Bush-Hager gushed about how excited she was to finally meet her niece. “Dearest Cora Georgia,” she begins her post, “Today is the day I got to meet my most beautiful, precious, feisty, niece (a bit earlier than we expected!) I witnessed in awe as my dearest, toughest @barbara.p.bush became a mama. And today is the day I fell in love!” she continued. “Some cousins are anxiously waiting to play with you, but not just yet love. Xx auntie j.”
On Today with Hoda & Jenna, Bush-Hager talked about the moment she learned her sister was in labor. “I woke up to a text message on Monday morning,” she remembers. “I burst into tears, I was frantic, I woke up (husband) Henry (Hager). He was like, ‘What?’ I’m like, ‘She’s in labor!’”
Barbara had decided to give birth while wearing a very specific necklace; pearls. “She was wearing pearls,” Bush-Hager recalls. “She doesn’t wear pearls. It’s weird. It feels serendipitous, but it’s so fun.” The pearls were in honor of their late grandmother, who was known for wearing pearls as a statement piece often.
