Fan Art Has Been Approved By Rob Zombie For 'Munsters' Reboot

Rob Zombie has given his seal of approval for fan art that was made for the upcoming Munsters reboot. Rob shared the fan art to his own Instagram, tagging the creator as per Instagram etiquette, which belongs to user @petebregman. The fan art shows characters Grandpa, Lily, and Herman Munster, in animated form. “Dig this super rad illustration by @petebregman of the new MUNSTERS,” Rob writes in the caption.

A reboot of The Munsters has been in the works for quite a while, not just from Rob, but from other directors such as Bryan Fuller, Seth Meyers, and the Wayans brothers. They’ve all collectively tried to revive the classic show and it looks like Rob is the most successful so far.

The reboot is currently being shot in Budapest, Hungary, and will likely need a long post-production time frame due to the effects-driven nature of the story, according to Screen Rant. Despite how long things are taking, fans are excited nonetheless due to Rob’s fulfilled promise of keeping things as true to the original as possible, and that can be seen through the promo shots that have already been released. The pictures were even released in a vintage black and white, but it hasn’t been confirmed if the reboot will be in black and white like the original was.

The reboot is paying homage to the original so much that, even though Rob is apparently engaging in the use of a lot of special effects, he’s still relying on the use of prosthetics and makeup. And it looks awesome so far. Needless to say, we are excited to see more promo photos and the final product, and with Rob being a known horror director (for films such as House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, and 3 From Hell) we’re hoping the gothic horror aesthetic is just as pleasing as it used to be.
