Ricki Lake has shared another powerful hair loss update after she shaved her head two years ago. Ricki had been struggling with hair loss until she made the courageous and brave decision to just shave it all off and let it grow back in naturally. Two years later, she looks better than ever.

Ricki may be best known for her role as Tracy Turnblad in the iconic Broadway show Hairspray, which took quite a toll on her, and she was eventually diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia, a common form of hair loss. She is now working on accepting herself for who she is

Of course, her post was met with tons of positive feedback and love. “Thank you for being a voice and using your platform to help normalize hair loss. Not only for women but for children and men as well. We are all enough exactly as we are, and it’s so helpful to know you aren’t alone in the journey. Sending love 💕,” one fan writes.
Another writes, “Beauty isn’t always physical, beauty is within yourself. Who you are and how you show up in the world is what beautiful looks like. You’ve always been a beautiful lady in my eyes. 🙌🏽❤️,”

When she first began losing her hair, Ricki had been investing time and money into hair growth supplements, extensions, and even certain diets to help promote hair growth. Nowadays, she’s happy she doesn’t have to worry about that stuff anymore. “I learned so much through the process of really letting go of something that had been really bothering me,” she told Good Morning America back in 2020. Now, she’s learned to accept every part of herself.
