Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos donated to the Win Scholarship Fund in New York City. Their donation will provide laptops and about $2,000 each to twenty homeless college students. During the pandemic, donations are more important than ever. With many students facing new challenges with virtual learning, homeless kids have even more disadvantages.
Often, financial aid doesn’t cover laptops, books, transportation, and other things that students need. If they don’t have the money, it could hinder their learning abilities. Mark and Kelly know the costs as they have kids in college right now.

Kelly shared, “Mark and I are so excited to help these students in whatever small way we can. Starting college is a pivotal moment for so many and being a part of this time is really special for our family. We know each of these scholarship recipients has a bright future ahead and we can’t wait to see what amazing things they accomplish!”

One of the recipients, Michael Jones, shared what he is doing with the scholarship. He said, “Despite the fires that are currently ripping through the West Coast, I am still determined to attend Portland State University and major in Creative Writing there. The scholarship from Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos is a major help to my college career and will help me purchase books, dorm essentials and other necessities, which will put me in a strong position toward success in my freshman year.”

In addition, last spring, Kelly and Mark donated $500,000 to the organization. This included laptops, iPads, and headphones for kids who needed the technology for remote learning. Kelly added, “We hope other people who have luckier circumstances like we do will help people living below the poverty line. It makes a difference forever.”
