Singers have a unique singing style that is all their own, so Iβm sure most people canβt imagine Mariah Carey and Olivia Newton-John sharing a stage together. Well, it happened! The Grease star joined the pop-singing songstress onstage back in 1998 for a little duet. The crowd went nuts as Olivia appeared and the two harmonized the song together.
They embraced as the song continued, adding beautiful harmonies into an otherwise single-melody tune. The final note was magic as Olivia took on the original ending note and Mariah took on a much higher note, as sheβs known for her incredible high notes.
The video has been re-circulating on YouTube. It was originally posted online back in 2016. βThis moment right here gives me chills!! For some reason, I cry every time I see this performance! Love Olivia and Mariah is my whole world!β one fan writes. Another says, βI like how she always lets the original singer let her do her thing and she acts as a back up vocal even though we all know she could slay any song.β

Another fan makes a good point of the video, saying, βItβs ironic how when Olivia Newton-John sings this song it sounds so 50s yet when Mariah sings this song it magically sounds 90s lol. I love them both though. Especially my Olivia!!πππππβ Many others agreed and also said that Mariah was very respectful to the original singer and has always been with other artists as well.
I have to admit, the two do make a lovely singing pair, especially on this song. Check out the video below to see the whole live performance! Maybe theyβll come back together one day for another renditionβ¦
