- An all-star tribute special will take place to honor the life of the late Kenny Rogers.
- It will be for “CMT GIANTS Kenny Rogers: A Benefit For MusiCares.”
- The benefit show will raise funds for coronavirus relief.
A proper tribute is being set up for a country legend that the world recently lost unexpectedly, Kenny Rogers. The tribute special will be completely virtual, given the current state of the coronavirus. The all-star lineup will feature Dolly Parton, Jennifer Nettles, Lionel Richie and more. It will be for the “CMT GIANTS Kenny Rogers: A Benefit For MusiCares.”
The performances are going to be live from the musicians’ homes. These performances will be blended with “rare archival photos, interviews, and performances, with clips and commentary from Rogers himself.” The lineup also includes Gavin DeGraw, Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires, Lady Antebellum, Michael McDonald, Randy Houser, Rascal Flatts, and Vince Gill. More are soon to come!
Mark your calendars for the Kenny Rogers tribute special
The tribute special will also give viewers a chance to donate to MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund. The relief fund “provides funds to “thousands of music creators and industry professionals who have the greatest need due to the Coronavirus pandemic.” Additionally, half of the money raised through the benefit show will go directly toward the Nashville country community.
