Robin Williams and John Ritter are some of the best-known comedians to ever live. While both are currently making the Heavens explode with laughter as of now, we have tons of films, live sketches, and more to remember them by. Williams began performing stand-up comedy in the mid-1970s when the skit provided below takes place. Ritter can be remembered best for his role in ABC sitcom Three’s Company.

Many of Williams’ films received both critical and commercial success. These films include Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), Dead Poets Society (1989), Aladdin (1992), Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Jumanji (1995), and Good Will Hunting (1997). Ritter would appear in over 100 films and television series combined, and even performed on Broadway. It’s safe to say their prowess extends far beyond what’s anticipated of a Hollywood star.

In the skit from 1978, Williams invites his good pal Ritter up on stage with him to do some improvisation. So, it’s important to note that none of this 10-or-so-minute sketch is planned at all! Williams had done live skits with many different improv partners, but people are quick to comment that Ritter was likely one of the best (if not the best).

“This has to be the best improv partner I’ve seen him with. Ritter was quick and that isn’t easy around Williams,” someone writes in the comments. Another person writes, “I grew up watching these two funny men on television and movies, I cried again after I watched not only cause I miss Robin. But John too. They were far too young, and had so much more to give.” Ain’t that the truth for us all!
