Anne Heche is speaking out and singing praises for actor Harrison Ford. She details how he stood up for her after coming out and going public with her relationship with Ellen DeGeneres. Many people urged her to keep her relationship a secret but Harrison was not one of them. Anne and Harrison worked together in the film Six Days Seven Nights in 1998. She recalls a conversation that she had with Harrison before she got the role. Anne Heche says Harrison Ford is her 'hero' She said, "I would not have gotten that movie. He called me the day after they said I wasn't gonna get it, because I took Ellen to the premiere, and Harrison Ford, he was a hero. He said, 'Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn who you're sleeping with. We're gonna make the best romantic comedy there is, and I'll see ya on the set.' He's one of my heroes. He fought a battle for me, and I would be on any desert island with him any day. He's an extraordinary human being." Anne admitted, "I was in a relationship with Ellen DeGeneres for three-and-a-half years and the stigma attached to that relationship was so bad that I was fired from my multi-million dollar picture deal and I did not work in a studio picture for 10 years." However, things eventually changed and Anne said she is "proud to have been part of a revolution that helped move equality forward." She still acts on television and in movies and is currently competing on Dancing with the Stars.
