Christmas Vacation has been a holiday staple since its debut in 1989 and has inspired more Christmas movies over the years. Three decades later, Chevy Chase and Randy Quaid are set to make another festive film with Christmas Letter starring Angus Benfield and Brian Doyle-Murray from Saturday Night Live. Executive producer Gato Scatena assured fans that it will be a reminder of the old classic, and expressed his excitement for what is to come. This news comes after Chevy announced he is going to be a first time grandparent as his daughter Emily Chase is pregnant. As simple as the plot sounds, Chevy is sure to add twists and a lot of laughter to the story progression, and fans can hardly wait to see what he has in store. There is no certainty about who plays the lead role between Randy and Chevy; however, subsequent updates will clarify who plays what. Chris was meant to direct Christmas Vacation but pulled out of the making because he could not tolerate Chevy.
