A simple childhood photo turned into an emotional television moment for Savannah Guthrie during a recent episode of Today. The NBC anchor became visibly teary while reflecting on an old picture shown during Jenna Bush Hager’s “Morning Boost” segment on May 7. The segment began with a funny viral video about awkward school picture day photos, prompting the hosts to share childhood snapshots. When Guthrie’s photo appeared, viewers saw a smiling young girl in her Bluebird Camp Fire Girls uniform. The longtime television host quickly corrected Bush Hager after she assumed it was a school picture outfit. She then quietly explained that the photo had actually been taken in the backyard of her childhood home in Tucson, Arizona. The memory clearly struck an emotional chord as her voice softened while talking about it on air. Even though the moment lasted only a few seconds, audiences connected with the sincerity behind it.
