The stars of the upcoming 2026 Baywatch reboot recently welcomed a real-life hero to their set. Teen lifeguard Ryder Williams earned national attention after risking his safety to rescue a 10-year-old boy from powerful waves at a California beach. According to People, several Baywatch 2026 stars, including Shay Mitchell, Stephen Amell, and Noah Beck, honored the 16-year-old following his courageous rescue. Williams visited the cast on set weeks after footage of the frightening incident spread across social media. Rather than celebrating a fictional television rescue, the actors had the opportunity to recognize someone who had actually put his life on the line to save another person. Teen Lifeguard Ryder Williams Risked His Life To Save A Child Instagram Williams jumped into action on July 25 after 10-year-old Nathaniel Rai encountered dangerous waves at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz, California. Video from the incident showed the teenager holding onto Nathaniel as the rough water continued crashing around them. Nathaniel later recalled that the waves pulled him into the ocean after he tripped. At one point during the terrifying ordeal, he believed he might die. Nathaniel later said he could not fully remember everything that happened because he apparently lost consciousness during the incident. His father, Sumit Rai, was in Dallas when the rescue occurred. Speaking afterward, Sumit expressed enormous gratitude toward the teenage lifeguard. He believed his son had an extremely small chance of surviving without Williams’ intervention. The father also recognized that Williams endangered his own safety by entering the powerful surf to reach Nathaniel.
