“I can’t walk,” Ozzy Osbourne announced. “But you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive.” These words are a stark contrast to the “Prince of Darkness” fans remember. Osbourne used to be an energetic performer who once commanded the stage with his presence and voice. Now, after years of struggling with several health challenges, he is preparing for his final performance.
Later this year, Osbourne’s first band, Black Sabbath, will reunite in Birmingham, England, for the Back to the Beginning concert. This will be the last concert for both the band and Osbourne. Despite his bad health condition, the legendary metal singer remains determined to give fans a proper farewell.
Ozzy Osbourne is ready to perform final show even with his debilitating health
Osbourne has been battling Parkinson’s disease since he was diagnosed in 2003. Alongside the condition, he has undergone multiple spinal surgeries, which have made it impossible for him to walk. Despite medical advancements and treatments, his mobility has continued to decline.
However, one thing that hasn’t changed is his voice. According to his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, the disease has not affected his ability to sing. “He’s really great. He’s got Parkinson’s, which we all know, but it doesn’t affect his voice,” she revealed. While he may not move around the stage as he once did, his powerful vocals remain intact. This means Osbourne will be able to put on a show for himself, his hand, and his fans one last time, and he is set to make it a memorable one with his former Black Sabbath bandmate.
All proceeds from the final Black Sabbath Concert will go to charity
The upcoming concert will take place in Birmingham, the city where Black Sabbath was formed. Fans will get to see the original heavy metal band founders together one last time. The concert will feature a setlist covering Black Sabbath’s greatest hits, from “Paranoid” to “War Pigs” and “Iron Man.”
More than just a farewell, Back to the Beginning is a way for Osbourne to thank his fans for their decades of support. Beyond the music, the show will also give back. All proceeds from the concert will go to charity, including Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
