Paul McCartney treated concertgoers to a surprise performance of his holiday classic “Wonderful Christmastime” at the Co-Op Live venue in Manchester, England. The rendition was even more special as children from the You Should Be Dancing Theater Academy did the backing vocals.
Paul shared photos from the surprise performance showing the faux snow that filled the stage as the rendition ended. “Simply having a Wonderful Christmastime in Manchester! We’ve been travelling around the world and here we are up north again. It’s good to be back!” his caption read.

At 82, Paul is still giving his fans a good show, and they were thankful for it, as evidenced by reactions to his Sunday performance. “We had a wonderful time at your Sunday Manchester show thank you Sir Paul!” someone gushed, while another said it was a magnificent show.
Some of Paul’s followers attended previous shows that blew them away, too. “Came to see you on Saturday with my mum… we both had an amazing time, we didn’t stop singing and smiling from start to finish,” they said.
Paul McCartney performed his holiday classic for the first time in years
Paul’s last performance of “Wonderful Christmastime” was in December 2018, during a three-part concert. Before then, he led the song as Jimmy Fallon and the cast of Sing joined him on a 2016 episode of The Tonight Show.
The Beatles frontman is currently on the England leg of his Got Back Tour, having visited South America, Paris, Madrid, and other cities in Europe so far. Paul’s concerts lately show that he is still agile and has no plans of retiring soon. He previously noted that he would continue to perform, tour, and collaborate as long as he is alive; however, he is more selective these days due to aging.
