Following the release of their debut album as Garfunkel and Garfunkel, Art Garfunkel and his son Art Garfunkel Jr. performed a duet of the Everly Brothers’ ballad “Let It Be Me,” from 1959, at the Café Carlyle in New York City. Joining them were three other family members, including Art’s wife Kathryn.

Their five-night engagement at the venue lasted until November 16, with clips of their performances making it to social media. Fans were thrilled to see the Garfunkel family sharing the stage and applauded them in the comments.

Art and Art Jr.’s version of “Let It Be Me” is one of the 12 tracks on their latest album Father and Son, which features other classics like “Blackbird” by the Beatles, “Here Comes the Rain Again” by Eurythmics, and “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper.

Art Jr. shared that Cyndi Lauper’s 1983 is his father’s favorite off the album, adding that he is an ‘80s guy himself. This collaboration between father and son comes amid speculation of a potential Simon and Garfunkel reunion, as Art recently reconnected with his former music partner after years apart.

The producer of Father and Son, Felix Gauder, shared a clip of Art and Art Jr’s duet to his Instagram, sparking reactions from his followers. Art began with a short speech, noting that he toured with the Everly Brothers Don and Phil during his Simon and Garfunkel days in the early 2000s.

It was a full circle moment as Art sang the lower melodies, while his son took over higher harmonies. “The Garfunkel family is sooooOOO talented! And soOOOOOOO nice!!!” a fan exclaimed in the comments. “My heart is smiling at this duet with the two glorious men,” another gushed.
