John Stamos recently updated his Instagram grid with a photo from 2002 featuring him and the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, who both played his TV niece Michelle Tanner. His Full House co-stars had attended his Broadway performance in Cabaret, and they posed in the dressing room for the wholesome shot.
Alongside the nostalgia-inducing photo were other shots of John in costume and with Molly Ringwald. In the caption, John admitted it was surreal having them all grown up and seeing him do a different act at Studio 54. “We shared a mutual pride for how far we’ve all come. If you would have told me,” he added.
Fans react to John Stamos’ throwback photo with the Olsen twins
John’s post went viral, receiving almost 300,000 likes and thousands of comments from his followers, many of whom are Full House fans. They gushed about his range and cheered his previous relationship with the girls. “I love how you all are so close, it warms my heart so much! With the whole cast!” someone gushed.
Another wished they had witnessed John’s performance as “the world’s best compere” at the Cabaret, while another, who was lucky to be there, reminisced about his awesome performance. “Not only were you incredible onstage, but you were amazing at the stage door with a very enthusiastic fan,” another exclaimed.
Life after ‘Full House’
After Full House, the series’ cast reunited in 2016 for a Netflix reboot titled Fuller House; however, the Olsen twins opted out. After a successful run in TV and film, Mary-Kate and Ashley focused solely on their fashion and merchandise careers and favored a life of privacy, as far as no personal social media.
Their absence from Fuller House offended John, who later accepted their peace offering of a frozen pork chop and sage. Dave Coulier, who played co-star Joey Gladstone, defended the twins, saying they were only kids while filming Full House. Hence, it is not surprising that they hold little to no excitement for a comeback.
