Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist Slash recently took to social media to announce the shocking death of his stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight. She was just 25 years old, and as of July 23, no cause of death has been ascertained. Slash’s announcement post did reveal that she passed away “peacefully” on July 19.
Knight was the daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight. Slash had dated Hodges back in the 1980s but split for several decades. According to USA Today, the two reconnected and rekindled their relationship in 2015. Slash, whose legal name is Saul Hudson, also has a stepdaughter, Scarlet Rae Knight, from his relationship with Hodges. He has since canceled several tour dates following Knight’s death.

The statement also goes on to call Knight an “incredibly talented artist, passionate dreamer, and charming, lovable, sweet soul.” Slash’s statement says “The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”
Hodges shared an identical post on her own Instagram, with her post also bearing no caption but only the image and explanation.
Grappling with this development
Slash had been engaged in his S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour, making stops around the U.S. It had been a labor of love, with Slash saying he “put all [his] effort into every detail that [he] possibly can” to create the perfect experience matching his vision.
However, following Knight’s tragic passing, Slash took to social media to share, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour regrettably has to cancel the below performances. Refunds will be available at points of purchase.”

“The S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour will resume in Toronto on July 28, 2024 at Budweiser Stage,” the announcement adds, “We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this has cause.”
Slash and Meegan Hodges began dating in 1989. After their relationship flickered out, each moved on to other partners, with Hodges ending up with Mark Knight and Slash marrying Renée Suran then Perla Ferrar. Knight, eventually, also ended up with someone else; in his case, producer Samantha Somers.
What appears to be her final Instagram post reads, “Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/ controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity-I am sorry. Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleu. Peace.” Below the captions, her mother replied, “MY BABY GIRL! I LOVE YOU WITH EVERYTHING. I’M SO SORRY.”
Rest in peace, Lucy-Bleu Knight.
